Summary of Sadie's TPLO Recovery |
| Sadie really has spent the
third month with little change, we took her back to the vet and he informed us the screw
may have worked loose a little and maybe causing her some discomfort so on November 26
2002 we took her back and had the screw and plate removed as the bone had healed, now
three days later she does appear to be moving a little easier. In retrospect I think Sadie is a little small to have had a TPLO done on her, it has taken ages for her to recover and she is still not back to her pre injury condition, I think the dog should weigh at least 40 pounds before thinking about this surgery, when we have her other knee done we will have straight forward ligament repair done. In 2004 we finally had a true diagnosis of 'Immune Mediated Poly Arthritis' she had severe rheumatoid arthritis in every one of her joints , by late 2004 she could no longer stand, it broke our hearts to put her to sleep on Jan 25th 2005 |
